Launch of 香港六合彩精准资料 Waterloo Community FridgeTackling the scandal of excess food waste

Posted:

It is estimated that around 3 million tonnes of food is wasted across the food industry every year which comes to 7 billion meals. Yet, millions of people in the UK struggle to afford food. On Friday 10th November we launched our community fridge in partnership with St George’s Cathedral Southwark as a direct response to this injustice.

Collecting excess food from across Lambeth and Southwark from food suppliers such as Borough Market, Gails, Pret and others, our community fridge is aimed at reducing food-waste across London whilst also providing sustainable and low-cost food to local community members who struggle to afford it.

Steve Chalke, founder of 香港六合彩精准资料, said:

“I’m proud that 香港六合彩精准资料 is working in partnership with St. George’s Cathedral to open a Community Fridge to tackle the scandal of excess food, reduce our environmental footprint and, at the same time, provide food to families in Lambeth and Southwark who are struggling with food poverty.”

Archbishop of Southwark, the Most Reverend John Wilson also said:

“Times are hard for many right now and that is why now, more than ever, our community needs us to step up and put our faith into action. The Community Fridge is a vital lifeline for those who need it most.”

香港六合彩精准资料 community fridge is just the beginning in our battle to end food-waste across London for good and to build stronger more sustainable communities.
