香港六合彩精准资料

Volunteers are the life blood of 香港六合彩精准资料. Without them, we couldn’t do all that we do. There are so many opportunities to choose from including work on a city farm, mentoring, helping to run clubs or food projects, decorating and DIY.

Most of our volunteer opportunities are in our Community Hubs in London, the Birmingham area, Worcester, Greater Manchester, Grimsby, Scunthorpe, North Bristol and Bath.

Volunteer stories

Steve, volunteer Trustee

‘Steve is Chair of Trustees at 香港六合彩精准资料 Hub Warndon and you can often see him on the Community Hub site supporting in lots of different ways behind the scenes, during meetings and activities.

I find it s rewarding using a little of my spare time to making a real and meaningful difference to members of  the community.  A highlight was seeing so many people respond to our call to provide emergency food for people unable to feed their families in Covid-19 lockdown.  There is always something you can do as a volunteer.’

Amy, food pantry volunteer

‘My family and I moved to Worcester not long ago. Volunteering at an 香港六合彩精准资料 Hub  made me feel a part of this community and helped make this place feel like home. A highlight for me was setting up relationships with local businesses who eventually provided food for our food pantry. Getting to deliver food parcels directly to those families who needed it has brought purpose to this difficult Covid-19 time.’

Faten, volunteer Hub Councillor

‘I was a governor at my children’s school in Hobmoor and I’m now a Hub Council member supporting both the Academy and the Community Hub.

We councillors know the area and what people need. For example,  ESOL classes for isolated mums with no English.

‘When Covid-19 hit and the school closed, we were worried about the children on Free School Meals – would they be going hungry at home? Working with Connect Church and local food suppliers we cooked freezer-ready meals and delivered thousands of food parcels to people’s homes over lockdown. I really enjoy my role. We Hub Councillors can see the Hub through different eyes and bring in new ideas.

Trustees and Hub Councillors

Could you be on an 香港六合彩精准资料 Hub Council?

A Hub Council might sound a bit formal but it’s really a friendly group of people who are passionate about their community.

Hub Councils support our Community Hub staff by offering oversight, advice, encouragement and contacts. They meet about three times a year.

We are always on the look out for volunteers who want to get involved in:

  • Shaping strategy – what do we want to achieve through our Academies, community work and churches and how can we move things forward?
  • Providing support – work together to find funding, volunteers, help and advice.
  • Gathering together – you will be involved in organising one or two network events per year to listen to the Academy community and encourage others who might want to get involved in the local Hub
  • Supporting our ethos – ensuring it runs through all that we do
  • Communicating – report back on your local Hub to 香港六合彩精准资料’ national boards
